Vicky Lauritzen

"Lead [the youth] to behold the One 'altogether lovely.' When once the gaze is fixed upon Him, the life finds its center. . . To honor Christ, to become like Him, to work for Him, is the life’s highest ambition and its greatest joy." ED 296 Vicky Lauritzen is a firm believer that "the work of education and the work of redemption are one." ED 30 Her favorite moments in the classroom are when she sees the Holy Spirit at work in students' lives.

In July, 2013, after living 27 years in the Collegedale, TN area, Vicky and her husband Jeff moved to Fresno, where Jeff teaches Bible and choir for Fresno Adventist Academy. Vicky worked as Discipleship Coordinator for the Central California Conference until she joined the Education Department in April, 2014. Prior to moving to Fresno, Vicky served as principal and 5th-6th grade teacher at Learning Tree Elementary School in Dalton, GA, from 2006-2013. From 1988-2006 she taught various grades and subjects at A. W. Spalding Elementary in Collegedale, TN. Her teaching experience includes every grade K-8 except first grade. Vicky received her B. S. in Elementary Education from Union College, and her M. A. in Curriculum and Instruction from La Sierra University.

When she is not working, you might find her traveling. She and Jeff have been on mission trips with students to Peru, Fiji, Panama, Cuba, Poland, Romania, and Bulgaria. They have also traveled as a family to many other countries including Norway, Germany, and China. Other hobbies include any kind of puzzles such as  crosswords, jigsaw, Words with Friends, or Sudoku. Vicky loves reading, and introducing kids to great books. She has also occasionally been seen on zip lines or snow skis, but not simultaneously. ;-) Their son Brian and his wife Brianne live in Los Angeles, where Brian is a producer for KUSC radio and Brianne is a physical therapist. Their daughter Becky and husband Dan live in Grand Rapids, MN. Becky is a radiologist and Dan
(formerly principal for Milwaukee Jr. Academy) is a stay-at-home dad for their two active boys, Nathan and Samuel.
